Peru tours that delve deeper

I have never done a trip with a tour group before and I was pleasantly surprised. To be honest, I had imagined long white buses full of people taking terrible pictures out of windows. I loved that we were a small group, could decide where to go, where to stop, where to eat, etc. This is definitely the way to do it because the trip was more meaningful and personalised and we got to know each other and were able to spend more time with Aldo asking questions and telling stories.

Superb! It felt like my husband and I were seeing the magical Sacred Valley and no one else was around but the people of the Andes. I love the way Aldo and Paul took the back roads, so we got to see how people really live and avoid the other tours, and stopped when we saw a festival going on, so that we could go visit. That was really special to have them do that!

I can't forget New Zealand because there I had the chance to experience kiwi life and to share it with all the great people I met during my southern island adventure. Among them was Steve: speaking of him simply as a reliable guide wouldn't pay justice. So, if like me, you're going to meet him somewhere around the world just smile: you have found a good friend.

It has been my first experience with a pre-planned trip, and I must say I really enjoyed every minute of it (and have already recommended it to my parents). The biking was well thought and gave the option for more difficult and challenging terrain to the more skilled bikers while still giving me, a first time rider, the ability to learn the 'trade' on the fly. The archaeological sites were wonderful too, and built up from simple to Machu Picchu in a great way that introduced us to Incan style and history.
